What I Have 2 Instagram Accounts & Why You Should Too

This recent establishment was much awaited!

My friends have been pestering me (in the nicest way possible) to get a personal Instagram account for the longest time. I have a few reasons why I decided to make a separate account from my blog Instagram and I'm going to share with you why today.

1. It creates much needed separation.
It was always difficult to decide to post about my friend's birthday on Instagram, but on my blog Instagram I just didn't find it fit. But with two different accounts, I can separate my personal life with my blogging life.

2. Captions.
The captions between my blog and personal account are like night and day. I always attempt to create fun and witty captions for my personal account, while my blog is always centered around my latest blog post.

3. Easy to switch accounts.
A great aspect of Instagram is how easy it is to switch between accounts, it just takes one click to go back and forth.

4. It's a great ice breaker.
Those of y'all who watch The Bachelorette, I was cracking up at the guy who 'broke the ice'. It was clever and entirely corny. I got off track, but I have always been reticent about sharing my blog. Even though everyone I've told has thought it was super cute! But I've found I can link my blog Instagram in the description in my personal account to kind of 'break the ice' of sharing that I have a blog!

For those of you contemplating making a separate Instagram I hope this gives you a better idea of the positives of taking the leap. If you bloggers already have a personal account I would love to follow you! I will have both accounts linked below and I'd love it if you gave me a follow.

  1. I agree! Having 2 separate accounts is definitely the way to go!

  2. I recently started a blog Instagram. I absolutely love taking pictures for it. You can follow my Instagram @goldclutter.

  3. Before I even started up my actual blog, I made an instagram! I wanted to see how dedicated I would be to it, and how well it was received. After 3 months on instagram, I started my actual blog! You're definitely right saying that some posts just don't fit on your blog insta (like posts about your friends, family, etc.), but I still want to share those things and have a visual memory! I love having two accounts.

  4. This is all great advice! When I started my blog, I made new social media accounts for blogging. But, I had a lot of my friends follow me on my blogging accounts, as well. Over time, I started to feel like I was bugging them with all of my blogging related posts and tweets. I think it's important to keep the two separate!

  6. Great advice! I wasn't sure whether I should get another Instagram account but it sounds like the way to go!
