Floral Halter Dress & Turning 19

Dress: Blue Mountain Boutique (sold out - similar)

If you must knowing any one thing about me, it's that I don't like my birthday. Lot's of people have said this, but I sincerely dread my birthday each year. Part of it is my having not the best memories or birthdays in the past, but it also has to do with my fear of time moving too quickly. It scares me to no end that I turn 19 today and am going to be a sophomore in college.

But I can find encouragement in John 14:27 "Peace is what I leave with you; it is my own peace that I give you. I do not give it as the world does. Do not be worried and upset; do not be afraid." This shows me that God guarantees that He is working out His purpose for me and for all of us. The fear of the unknown can terrify me but through I find comfort in the Comforter himself and his promise to us.

  1. I still think it's amazing that we share a birthday! I think that celebrating birthdays is a bit peculiar--after all, it's just a day to commemorate someone being born. Even though the time aspect of birthdays--the reminder that yet another year has flown by--can be unpleasant, it can also be a grateful reminder: that the Lord has granted us another year to make an impact upon this world and that He has actively supported us throughout our lives to the present.
