7 Must Have Shoes for College

Dorm rooms are infamous for having limited space, and shoes can easily start to take over your minuscule closet. As a shoe connoisseur, I have fell victim to this many times. With that in mind, I have compiled a list of the shoes every college girl will need and use in her wardrobe!

Tassel & Tie Dye Dress

Dress: Sweet Olive // Necklace: Kendra Scott
// Bracelets: Sweet Olive

So there is a good reason why you are not seeing my shoes...I totally stepped in mud before shooting this dress! It had been raining cats and dogs the day prior and I somehow missed a huge hole of mud! I managed to save the sandals, but I'm still in therapy (haha)!

Back to the outfit! Both this adorable dress and bracelet set are from Sweet Olive! They kindly sent me these items to style, and I'm completely in love with the quality. They were so nice to work with, and don't forget to follow them on Instagram and like them on Facebook!

Floral Halter Dress & Turning 19

Dress: Blue Mountain Boutique (sold out - similar)

If you must knowing any one thing about me, it's that I don't like my birthday. Lot's of people have said this, but I sincerely dread my birthday each year. Part of it is my having not the best memories or birthdays in the past, but it also has to do with my fear of time moving too quickly. It scares me to no end that I turn 19 today and am going to be a sophomore in college.

But I can find encouragement in John 14:27 "Peace is what I leave with you; it is my own peace that I give you. I do not give it as the world does. Do not be worried and upset; do not be afraid." This shows me that God guarantees that He is working out His purpose for me and for all of us. The fear of the unknown can terrify me but through I find comfort in the Comforter himself and his promise to us.

Birthday Wishlist

My birthday may be tomorrow, but I've never been one to be a huge birthday person. I never wanted a big celebration and I was never one to count down the days til the big day. The reason I'm creating the 'wishlist' is for those of y'all with friends or family with upcoming birthdays or even if you have a summer birthday, to give you some ideas and inspiration! Some of these items are affordable and some are splurge items, all of which I think would make for a lot of great gifts.

Swell Water Bottle ($42)
I actually featured this exact water bottle in my 'Graduation Gift Ideas for Her' blog post, I just love the gold. These water bottles are super trendy lately and they come in several colors and patterns.

ENO ($94.99)
If you're unfamiliar with this product, I can assure you it is very popular among college campuses. It's a portable hammock that can be hung just about anywhere there are trees. I also think this would be fun for the summer for laying out and reading a book or listening to some music.

Kate Spade Watch ($130-195)
I couldn't decide between this one or this one . You can obviously choose a different brand, or just head to Charming Charlie where they have some super cute affordable watches! (Check them out here here or here.) I have always loved Kate Spade and her watches in particular, but watches don't have to be a splurge item.

Tory Burch Bag ($98-245)
This bag has many different sizes, thus the wide range in prices. I have always loved this bag, I think it's classic and with the neutral brown color it can be paired with a lot of different looks.

Sperry Shoes ($69-89)
I've been very indecisive today and couldn't help but include two pairs of love, click here and here. I own a pair of white canvas Sperrys that I got for my last birthday that are almost ready to retire. I am a huge fan of Sperry so I've been looking for another pair to replace my current pair.

Kendra Scott Necklace ($50-65)
I can't tell you how long this item has been on my wishlist. I love the simplicity of it, it can easily be worn everyday.

Luggage Set ($419.99)
Since I will be living far away from home I'll be needing a suitcase for my airplane flights. I want a fun color that will be different and easy to spot among the array of neutral colored luggage.

Products Haul

One of my favorite things to get in the mail is new products, especially skin care items. Seriously, give me some face masks (these are my favorite and super affordable!) and I'll be content. I was kindly sent a few products these past weeks, and after trying them wanted to give some reviews.

Freeman Beauty Masks: I am a bit obsessed with masks, I think I have a problem. I have really enjoyed using this Mud Mask and Clay Mask from Freeman Beauty. They're super quick to do, but my one con is that you really got to scrub to get them off. Maybe I'm just not used to doing so, but unless you want blue streaks on your face you need to be armed with scrubbing tools.

Jergens Natural Glow: My mom got me this for my high school graduation, and I just now repurchased it.

Crabtree & Evelyn Hand Therapy: This stuff smells so good, pomegranate is the best. Random fact but I have absurdly soft skin, especially my hands. It's a weird genetic thing, but I'm not complaining. I don't often use lotion for my hands but this could come in handy in the winter.

Au Lait Body Wash: Even with 3 years of French under my belt I still admittedly googled what this meant. Au Lait translates to 'with milk', I think I was hoping for something more poetic, but it's all good. I've used this a few times, but it's nothing special.

That's all for today!

Check back tomorrow for a birthday post!

Tie Dye Dress

Dress: Blue Mountain Boutique (only $32!) // Shoes: Old Navy

This has been one of my favorite dresses lately, it's so comfortable and it has POCKETS! It's incredibly comfortable and it has a fun tie-dye print and color for summer!

It was sent to me by the Blue Mountain Boutique, located out of Texas (my favorite)! They were so sweet to let me style this piece, and I definitely recommend looking at their website for cute clothing!

Favorites from J.Crew Factory Under $60

Do y'all ever get in those moods where you just want to online shop, that is me right now! And the first site I went straight to was J.Crew Factory!

For my internship, I had to buy some khaki shorts and didn't have much time to do so. I ended up buying a pair from Walmart for almost $10 more than this high-quality pair. This price is comparable to Old Navy and they have a lot of fun colors.

This style of earrings has been super trendy lately, I love that this pair is a little bit shorter!

This top reminds me of Kate Spade, it's probably the bow!

These tops have been all over Instagram, the phrases are so fun!

These neutral wedges would match almost every summer dress!

What I Have 2 Instagram Accounts & Why You Should Too

This recent establishment was much awaited!

My friends have been pestering me (in the nicest way possible) to get a personal Instagram account for the longest time. I have a few reasons why I decided to make a separate account from my blog Instagram and I'm going to share with you why today.

1. It creates much needed separation.
It was always difficult to decide to post about my friend's birthday on Instagram, but on my blog Instagram I just didn't find it fit. But with two different accounts, I can separate my personal life with my blogging life.

2. Captions.
The captions between my blog and personal account are like night and day. I always attempt to create fun and witty captions for my personal account, while my blog is always centered around my latest blog post.

3. Easy to switch accounts.
A great aspect of Instagram is how easy it is to switch between accounts, it just takes one click to go back and forth.

4. It's a great ice breaker.
Those of y'all who watch The Bachelorette, I was cracking up at the guy who 'broke the ice'. It was clever and entirely corny. I got off track, but I have always been reticent about sharing my blog. Even though everyone I've told has thought it was super cute! But I've found I can link my blog Instagram in the description in my personal account to kind of 'break the ice' of sharing that I have a blog!

For those of you contemplating making a separate Instagram I hope this gives you a better idea of the positives of taking the leap. If you bloggers already have a personal account I would love to follow you! I will have both accounts linked below and I'd love it if you gave me a follow.
