Spring Break Recap

Last week was my school's spring break! And we didn't go on a typical beach vacation, but rather spent our time off going to visit my top 3 schools. I think I've mentioned this about a million times, but I am a senior in high school. It wasn't exactly a relaxing vacation, since we spent a lot of time in the car, but it was nice to get away from the cold Chicago weather.

We left early on Easter Sunday to make our way down to Mississippi, but we had to stop at Lambert's in Missouri for lunch. If you aren't familiar with this restaurant, it's tagline is "Home of the Throwed Rolls". Yes that's right they throw rolls at you. A guy will come out with a cart filled with pans of rolls, and you'll raise your hand and they'll throw them to you, free of charge. It's so fun to catch them and they are so delicious. Also people walk around with bowls of sides you can try, the grits were my favorite!

Then we made our way down Starkville, MS where we stayed the night. The next morning we woke up bright and early to attend Mississippi State's Spring Preview Day. It was a super long day, boring but informational.

A pretty view of campus.

You can see the football stadium in the back!

We were able to go up and see a view of the whole football stadium.

And we ended our day with some Homemade Ice Cream!

Afterwards we headed to our hotel in Oxford, MS. We got there pretty late, but luckily our campus tour of University of Mississippi wasn't until 10 am. I have actually been down to Oxford for a football game, so I was able to remember some parts of the campus and downtown.

Before we left, we popped into Square Books in the Square. It's an independent bookstore, and for all you book worms out there I would definitely recommend checking it out!

After this quick stop, we started the haul to Auburn University in Auburn, AL (Remember how I said we did a lot of driving?) I had a life changing experience at a Zaxby's, it was very zunny. And no that wasn't a zypo. Then in the morning we headed to campus for our tour. Our tour guide, managed to walk backwards the entire time!

Only tour guides are allowed on the roof of the building that I took some of these pictures from. I thought we were going to be blown off the edge, but it was such an amazing view of campus.

The most important part of a campus!:)

This was one of my favorite photos! It's a picture of the Honors College.

I couldn't resist!

Lovely view of the baseball field from our parking garage. Fun fact about me...I love baseball!

If you don't know already check out the Toomer's Drugs website, and read up on the history about this adorable drugstore. Such an amazing tradition!

I recommend the Vanilla Lemonade...YUM!

We ended the day on a high note at the intersection of Magnolia & College Street in Auburn. Then we...can you guess? Started driving back home. We stopped in northern Alabama for the night, and then drove the rest of the way home on Thursday. It was a fun trip, but I still don't have a final decision on my college. I hope y'all had lovely spring breaks, comment down below how you spent your time off!

Show me the right path, O Lord;
point out the road for me to follow.
