Things To Do On Staycation

As you are reading this I am currently on Spring Break, touring colleges. If you aren't already you can add me on Snapchat (@anchoreditsouth) to follow along on my trip! Even though I'm not home for break, I still wanted to share a few ideas & activities that y'all who are having a staycation can do. Let me know what you did or plan on doing for spring break!

Get crafting
It's about time you try DIYing all those pins on your Pinterest account that you said you would make. Plus this is always a fun way to pass the time, and make some new room decor pieces.

Go on a Picnic
Grab some friends, a blanket, and some yummy food and enjoy! If the weather isn't too picnic-worthy, host a picnic in your living room, it'll still be just as fun!

Visit a local museum
Living just outside of Chicago, I sometimes forget how fortunate I am to be so close to so many amazing museums. (If you're in town I recommend the Science & Industry Museum!) Even if you aren't close to a big city, I'm sure that your town or a neighboring one will have a cool museum for you to explore.

Spa Day
This is always a great option, especially if you aren't granted with any warm weather where you live. I know I need to give myself a pedicure before sandal season!

Day Trip
Even though you're having a staycation, that doesn't mean you can't venture out or explore. I think it's so fun to pick a town near you and just go window shopping or grab something to eat.

Read
I don't think I say this enough, but I love to read! Although things can get in the way sometimes, and I don't pick up a book for months. I am planning on going to the library today to pick up some books for our little roadtrip!

Be Outside
I love that I grew up in an outdoorsy family, from camping to fishing, we do it all! Even if outdoors for you means reading a book in a hammock, go for it. Enjoy the fresh air!

These are just a few ideas of how you can spend your staycation. Even if you are leaving town or staying home I hope you have a lovely Spring Break!

The grass withers & flowers fade,
but the word of the Lord stands forever.

Spring Wedges Under $50

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6

Ever since I found the cutest pair of wedges at TJMaxx the other day, I have been on a huge wedges kick. I have been especially in love with the Toms wedges, they have such cute styles and colors. Fun fact my dad actually met Tom at a business meeting! Also I am hosting a giveaway on my Instagram today, so be sure to be on the lookout!

Spring Outfits Pinspiration

When I was walking from the car to church this morning, I didn't believe for a second that it was the first day of spring. My mom has warned me that we are expecting snow this week! I am oh so ready for warmer weather, and to be able to break out dresses, shorts, and sandals. I have been on Pinterest a lot these past weeks, you can follow me here. I wanted to share a few pins of cute spring outfits that I found. Also, this post is apart of the Spring Fling Linkup hosted by the 2 lovely ladies over at Pick Your Beau & Seersucker Sass. St. Patrick's Day Outfit Inspiration

If I'm being completely honest, I've never been one to get excited for this holiday. Most years I usually end up forgetting about it all together. But thanks to my green eyes I never get pinched, eyes totally count right?! Anyway, I still have no idea what to wear tomorrow so I thought I would make a few outfits incorporating green or mint. Comment down below your favorite look! I am also apart of  #GalPalHoliday Linkup hosted by Cathleen & Rachel, so be sure to check out everyone else's post for more St. Patrick's Day fun!

Boutique Spotlight: The Impeccable Pig

The Impeccable Pig

It has been so long since I have done one of these posts! Today I'll be talking about a boutique called The Impeccable Pig. I have actually been to their boutique in Knoxville, TN it was so cute! For you southern ladies they have plenty of stores near year they have locations in; TN, LA, FL, VA, OK, NC, SC, GA & TX. If you live in any of these states, I would definitely recommend checking them out. If you don't they also have a fabulous online boutique. I'm going to be sharing some of my favorite pieces...

As a Chicagoan, our spring isn't as warm as I'd like it to be. So I usually never
pack my sweaters away. I love the color and fit of this one.

Do you know what this Thursday is? Saint Patrick's Day! Do you know how many green pieces of clothing I own? Zero! I'm not opposed to green or anything, I guess I just always gravitate toward neutral colors. But this fun colored dress would be the perfect addition to my closet.

How gorgeous and vibrant is this blue color? I am in love with the off the shoulder trend!

How fun is this print for spring?!

I love how this tie & bow detail adds so much to a basic tank.

Now I just need a tan!

I am so glad tassel necklaces are still a trend!

That's it for today's post, stay tuned for an excited St. Patty's Day post this Thursday!

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order
that you may know the hope to which He has called you.

My Favorite YouTubers

I have been following her main channel and her vlogs for a while now, even though she's a big YouTube star she is so down to earth and fun to watch.

Danielle is the sweetest person ever, she has such a chic style that I love to take inspiration from. I also love how genuine all of her videos are!

I absolutely love watching Meredith's video she seems so sweet. I also love her style, very southern and feminine!

Just like Meredith, Brooke is a college student so she is always posting super helpful college videos! Plus she goes to college in the south!

If you haven't checked out her channel, you absolutely must! Cambria is always incorporating fitness and faith into her channel.

Hayley is a fashion blogger too over at Daily Dose of Darling, which is how I found out about her YouTube channel. And I'm so glad I did because she has such a cute and feminine style that I absolutely adore!

Madison always has the cutest videos, and her Instagram is always on point!

Mimi Ikonn
If I'm ever asked the question of who I'd want to meet in real life, it would be Mimi. She seems like the sweetest person in the world. And her travel vlogs are so dreamy and magical.

That's my round-up of my favorite YouTubers, comment down below which ones are your favorite to watch!

March Playlist

It has been a while since I shared a monthly playlist, but I thought it's better late than never. As always, I'd love some music suggestions! Comment down below what you've been listening to lately!

Mail Time Vol. 2

Happy Friday y'all! I have today off from school, and I'm planing to hopefully get ahead on my blogging posts. Today I wanted to share a few things that I have gotten the past few weeks. If you haven't already you can check out my first Mail Time post here!

It's always so hard to resist shopping at Old Navy. I limited myself to only buying three things. I picked out some spring pieces with hopes that it'll be getting warmer soon!

I also am so glad to be featuring this adorable sweatshirt from Gabee Tees. It's an Etsy shop that sells tees, tanks, and sweatshirts with cute little sayings. The shipping was incredibly fast and I have been wearing this sweatshirt non-stop. I'm actually wearing it now!

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

February Update & Favorites

So...I think it was back in January that I tried writing weekly posts about things that happened to me that past week. I managed all of two weeks before I gave up on it. I found that nothing exciting or of interest would really happen, and I wouldn't usually have any photos to go along with it. While I absolutely LOVE reading weekly updates from fellow bloggers, such as Katie & Tori, it wasn't really fitting in my regular, as well as blogging schedule. However, I didn't want to stop posting life updates altogether, that's when I decided that I would write monthly updates here on the blog. This way y'all can stay up to date on my life! I also thought I would be fun to share some of my favorites for the past month. Whether it be movies, Netflix shows, shoes, blogs, music, or my new favorite flavor of tea. I hope y'all enjoy these kind of posts, if you want some more insight into my daily life add me on Snapchat @anchoreditsouth

By the beginning of February, I found myself getting into the swing of my new 2nd semester schedule. My favorite class is Sociology, my teacher is absolutely adorable and the subject is really interesting. It's my last period and it's a great way to end the day. As most of you know I am a senior in high school this year. I have not made a final decision yet for college, we are actually planning several college visits over Spring Break that will hopefully give me a better idea of my top school.

Music
747 by Lady Antebellum
Stand By Me by Rachel Platten
And basically anything by Luke Bryan

Movie/Netflix Shows
Max - German Shepherds are my favorite!
Fuller House - Max is my favorite. Coincidence...I think not!
Gilmore Girls - I've got my mom hooked!

I've also been into watching Ted Talks, I'd appreciate any suggestions!

You can make many plans, but the Lord's purpose will prevail.
