#GalPalHoliday: 10 Last Minute Halloween Costume Ideas

Cristina of Cristina on Campus, Rachel of Seashells & Sparkles, & Cathleen of Classy Cathleen are hosting the must anticipated #GalPalHoliday Linkup. Each month has a different theme relating to the holiday of that month. This month theme is Witches, Ghouls, and Goblins! I wanted to share with you a few easy, simple last minute Halloween costumes that you can create.
Cowboy Girl

If you happen to live anywhere below the Mason-Dixon line, I assume that you have some of these pieces. Even though I live in Chicago, I still have had a pair of cowboy boots on my wishlist for ages!

Where's Waldo

Where's Waldo

This is definitely one of my favorite costumes. It's very simple and easy, but it's also very clever and unique. There's a small chance that anyone else will be rockin' this costume as well.

This costume is so adorable, plus you most likely have a lot of these pieces already in your closet. So it is super easy to put together last minute.

Why be a loner Luigi, when you can have one of your best friends dress up as Mario. It would be such a fun double costume to be able to coordinate with one of your friends.

Either this costume or the Where's Waldo costume has to be my favorite. This is a very original idea, and I've never seen anyone dress up as a tourist for Halloween.

Rapunzel from Tangled

Even though it is incredibly difficult to pick a favorite Disney Princess, Rapunzel may be one of my favorites if not my top favorite. With her signature frying pan in hand no on will mistake you for anyone else.

Mary Poppins

Mary Poppins

I love the simplicity of this outfit. Mostly black and white pieces, accessorized with a big umbrella and a huge bag!

Alice in Wonderland

Alice in Wonderland

I just kind of wanted an excuse to style these slipper shoes! How cute are they? That is all...

I have never professionally golfed a day in my life. But when my orchestra when mini golfing in seventh grade, I still pride myself that I got first place. Plus I also got a huge candy bar, which didn't hurt much either. Anyway, this look is simple to pull together. You can also ask a friend of yours that's on the golf team to lend you some things.

Has you LWD (Little White Dress) been collecting dust in your closet, well now is the perfect time to break it out. Pick up some cheap costume jewelry and fake flowers and you have a completed look.

Which look was your favorite? Are you dressing up for Halloween this year?

Plaid Shirt: Styled 3 Ways

Plaid #1

Plaid #1 by sincerelysyd9 featuring H&M

I remember I used to think that LL Bean (bean) boots were the ugliest thing ever.
It wasn't till a few years ago that I looked past them to realize that they are a fall essential especially for us northern girls!

Plaid 2

One of my favorite fall looks is a sweater layered over a flannel or a plaid shirt.
It just looks so cute, especially when paired with a cute statement necklace.

Plaid 3

What's a fall outfit without a pair of Hunter Boots, this gray pair has always been my favorite. From there I used other gray pieces and accented the rest of the outfit with gold accessories.

I love to take simple pieces that most people already have in their closet, like a plaid shirt, and styling them in tons of different ways. I hope y'all liked this post, let me know if you want me to do another post like this!

J.Crew Factory Fall Wishlist

If you've ever been to the Midwest you know that the weather can be all over the place. One day you're wearing a t-shirt and shorts and you're melting just standing outside. Then the next day you are bundled up, freezing to death and hallucinating Frosty the Snowman walking down the street. (Okay that may be a slight exaggeration, but you get the idea!) Regardless, I am ready to be able to break out my sweaters and boots and to rock that blanket scarf I've had pre-ordered for the past few months. I put together a few items on my fall wishlist, from one of my favorite stores, J. Crew Factory!

I have had my one of this same vest for several seasons now. It would be a
big splurge but with its neutral colors I know it would match a lot in my closet.

One of my favorite parts or fall is being able to layer, I think this
simple gingham (still have no idea how to say that) would look great
layered under a cream sweater and a statement necklace.

I am very particular about my plaids and flannels,
but I love this navy blue pattern!

I may or may not have several similar sweaters to this
in my closet already, but you can never seem to have enough!

This skirt is a great staple to have in your closet, I love the
tweed on this skirt because it adds another texture to an outfit.

I've always wanted to find the perfect pearl necklace,
that didn't scream costume-y and I think I finally found it!

I am not a huge leopard/cheetah print person, but I like
these flats because they aren't too flashy and would add
a cute print to a plain outfit.

That's my round-up for today, let me know which piece was your favorite!

Did You Like Fall Before It Was Cool?

Most of the time I've never been one to follow trends. I like what I like even if it isn't considered "cool" or "in style". When I think trends I typically think of fashion, fads (Webkinz anyone?), or in this case seasons. For me fall was always about raking leaves into little mazes in my yard with my siblings. It was about gearing up for College Football Saturdays, the best day of the week in my opinion. It was about carving lopsided faces into squirrel-bitten pumpkins to display on your front steps. It was about burning our tongues because we couldn't wait to drink our hot chocolate.

Nowadays, I find that media amplifies fall. Everyone always counts down the days till they can order and pretend they like PSLs from Starbucks. Everyone always starts preparing and creating those recipes and DIYs they've been pinning on Pinterest the entire year. Everyone always is prepping for the return of their favorite TV series to begin again.

I suppose I could say that I'm a person of tradition. With the expanded appreciate of the fall season increasing, I still like to think that I love the fall because of its nostalgic factor!
