BaubleBar Picks For Under $50

It's safe to say that I am a bit obsessed with BaubleBar. They are an amazing company with the cutest jewelry and accessories. It is definitely not as cheap as Forever 21 jewelry, but you really get the bang for your buck (who actually says that anymore?) Anyway, I found some adorable pieces that I wanted to share with y'all!

I thought what better way to start out this list than with a statement necklace. Can you believe that I don't own a simple silver statement necklace, wait a minute, simple and statement should never belong in the same sentence. I meant, can you believe that I don't have a glamorous, blindingly beautiful, red-carpet worthy statement necklace. Me neither!

2. Tortoise Ariel Collar

I've always loved tortoise glasses or sunglasses, but I've never seen it on a necklace. I'm sold! I really love it with the beautiful turquoise blue and the small delicate pearls.

3. Lightning Radiant Cuff

I've really been into stacking bracelets lately. This bracelet is a must-have for your arm-candy.

4. Snake Chain Tassel Drops

Everyone and their mother have been obsessed with tassels this season. I myself am guilty of buying one to many tassel bracelets, but I love them in the version of earrings. They would be a super unique way to accessorize an outfit.

5. Giant Gem Speaker

Okay so this is obviously not jewelry, but I couldn't not include it. It's a huge bright pink speaker shaped like a gem, how can you say no to that?!

I hope y'all liked some of my favorite from BaubleBar, it's so hard to just pick a few. So here are  a few more pieces that I wanted to share with you. Let me know which is your favorite!

Sincerely,
Syd

5 Tips for Running in the Summer Heat (Announcement of Lilly Pulitzer Agenda Giveaway)

I've decided to share some of my tips, that have helped me for running this summer. Now don't go thinking: "Oh, I'm not a runner, this doesn't apply to me!" It does! Whether you are running, hiking, attending camps, or just playing/hanging out outside, these tips will make sure to keep you feeling good, even under the sun.

1. WEAR SUNSCREEN
I can't stress enough how fragile your skin is! I know the tan glow looks pretty, but when you get older you will realize the consequences that tanning and getting sunburns can do to your body.

2. STAY HYDRATED
Now I'm not just talking when you are out and about outside. Also remember to drink water even when you aren't doing physical activity. Right now as I am blogging I have a huge water bottle that I always drink from. Whenever you out to lunch or at the movies, I encourage you to choose water! Not only is it usually free it also has a long list of benefits for you.

3. WEAR SUN PROTECTION
Yes, I know, we've already discussed the importance of sunscreen. Another way to help keep the sun off your face and eyes is wearing hats and sunglasses. Baseball hats have been my best friend this summer, not only does it hide the hideous frizz fest that is my hair, it helps protect your face.

4. DEODORANT
Hopefully, you all wear deodorant so this one should be implied. However, whenever I go to get a new deodorant I always look for one made especially for sports, it's more heavy duty and will stay on longer.

5. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY
My coach always tell me to "listen to my body!" Now what does this mean you ask, let me explain. Especially during the summer, the weather can make running much more difficult. The humidity makes it harder to breath and the sun is always beating down on you. It's very important to pay attention to what your body is telling you. Obviously, it's going to be saying how hot it is and how tired you are, that's normal! But if you start to feel dizzy or lightheaded, you may just be on the verge of fainting. In this case be sure to slow it down, and maybe go over into the shade to calm down. Be very careful when running in the heat, always put your health first!

I hope this helps everyone out there who is running or just spending time outside this summer (and not wasting our days away with Netflix - as hard as it is!) If y'all have any more questions comment down below or email me (sincerelysyd9@gmail.com), I love chatting with you guys!

Also congratulations to Kathryn Fagan for winning mine and Julia's Lilly Pulitzer agenda giveaway. Please email Julia (asouthernheartblog@gmail.com) to receive your agenda. Thank you for everyone who participated, there will definitely be more giveaways in the future!

Sincerely,
Syd

Preppy Girl Tag

I've learned a lot through my blogging journey, including more about the preppy style. Living up in the north I had never heard of Lilly Pulitzer until a few months ago. I was really missing out, but don't worry I've already purchased my first Lilly agenda and I'm obsessed! I don't define my style as one specific type but I have been loving a lot of preppy brands. It was perfect when Katie from Chic in Carolina tagged me to do the preppy girl tag!

What's your definition of preppy?
To me, someone who is preppy isn't interested in new trends, but rather classic and timeless pieces.

What's your all time favorite brand?
Ever since I got my first Lilly Pulitzer agenda, I've been loving their brand!

Whats is your favorite Lilly print?
Since it's hard to narrow it down, my top three are Red Right Turn, Shell Me About It, and Seaesta.

Favorite preppy YouTuber?
One of my all time favorite youtubers is Meredith (southernbelle606) she is so adorable, and I always love watching her videos.

Jack Rogers or Sperrys?
I just got my first pair of Sperrys for my birthday, and I love them!

Jeans or Khakis?
Jeans all the way!

Duck Boots, Riding Boots or Hunters?
Riding boots are so cute and fun to style, they are my go to shoes in the fall and winter.

Navy or Black?
Navy! Especially navy stripes, it's basically all that's in my wardrobe.

On a scale of 1-10 how much do you love J. Crew?
10, without a doubt! I wish a J.Crew store could fit in my closet.

Pearls or bows?
I love both, but I have to go with bows because they can add a special detail to an outfit.

Ashley at Lilly and Lemons

Romper: Haute As Ice // Cardigan: Shop The Mint //
Sandals: Old Navy // Necklace: Pink Slip Boutique

I am so exciting to be working with Haute As Ice for this outfit post, they are a small boutique located in Huntington, TX. They were also so gracious to give all of you a coupon code, if you use the code SYDNEY at checkout you will receive 15% off your entire purchase! This romper they sent me to style is perfect for the transition from summer to fall. It can get a bit chilly up in the North, especially during summer nights, so I always like to bring a jacket or sweater with me wherever I go. I love how breezy this cardigan is, it's perfect for chilly summer or fall days. I paired this entire outfit with my new favorite sandals from Old Navy that are so comfy and match everything. I added this delicate gold necklace, also from an adorable boutique. I hope y'all enjoyed this post, I have a lot of more outfit posts planned that I can't wait to share with you!!

Kendra Scott: Mystic Bazaar Collection

I've always had a special place in my heart for Kendra Scott, especially her well-known Rayne pendant necklaces. Her jewelry is on the expensive side, and as a high school senior going off to college next year, it's not really in the budget:( But I've talked with lots of people who have purchased from KS and they've said the price is without a doubt worth it because of how nice quality everything is. It just so happens that tomorrow Kendra Scott will be debuting their new collection called Mystic Bazaar. The line is inspired by Kendra's travels to Dubai. I can't wait to see the reveal of all the pieces, they have a catalog online where you can get a little sneak peak of the collection. Go check it out!

Have you ever shopping with Kendra Scott,
if so what did you purchase?!

                                                                         Sincerely,

Summer Essentials

1. Swimsuit
I always find that swimsuit shopping to be very difficult. I like to get a basic bottom, that way it can match with a lot of different tops.
2. Sunscreen
This is a MUST for me! Coming from a family of fair-skinned redheads, I burn super easily. So I always have to have sunscreen with me.

3. Sunhat
I'm still on the hunt for the perfect sunhat, but in the meantime I've been rocking cute baseball hats this summer.

4. Sandals
I just love to wear sandals, I have so many pairs because you can never seem to have enough.

5. Flowy Shorts
Also known as pajamas. They might as well be called pjs because of how soft and comfy they are. It's a win-win!

6. Polaroid Camera
I've always loved photography, I've been saving up for a DSLR camera for ages now. But there is something about taking a Polaroid that is just so fun, and plus they come in a bunch of cool colors!

7. Bright Nail Polish
I'm usually not very adventurous with nail polish, I stick to my OPI Big Apple Red. But during the summer, I love to get fun, bright colored nail polish and just go nuts!

8. Sunglasses
When I was younger, I was always wearing sunglasses, not much has changed since then. I have been loving colored lenses, and I'm still dreaming of the day that I can afford/justify buying a pair of Ray Bans.

I hope y'all are having a great summer so far, I can't believe it's already July! I want to give a HUGE thank you to the lovely Lindsay over at Lindsay Nichole Designs for creating this amazing illustration. It was so fun working with her and I definitely recommend you checking out her Instagram (@lindsaynicholedesigns) her account and illustrations are beautiful! What are your summer essentials, let me know down in the comments!!

Sincerely,
Syd

Bloggers Get Cookin' Linkup

I absolutely love linkups, they are a great way to interact with fellow bloggers! So when Cathleen of Classy Cathleen and Katie of Chic in Carolina asked me to join their linkup, I jumped at the chance! I decided on making these Mini Monkey Bread Rolls, which are delicious and turned out to be a huge hit with my family! Enjoy!

Ingredients:
-12 Dinner rolls, thawed but still cold
-6 tablespoons butter, melted
-2 tablespoons of corn syrup
-1/2 cup brown sugar
-2 teaspoons cinnamon

Cut each dinner roll into 6 pieces. I found it easiest to use a pizza cutter to cut up the rolls.

In a bowl, combine the melted butter and corn syrup.

In another bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon and mix well. Dip 6 roll pieces at a time into the butter mixture, then plop them and roll them into the cinnamon and sugar mixture.

Place 6 pieces into each well sprayed little muffin cup. Cover with sprayed plastic wrap, and let it double in size. Bake for 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees. While they were cooking I decided to start on the icing.

Icing Ingredients:
-1 cup of powdered sugar
-1 tablespoon butter, melted
-1-2 tablespoons milk
-1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Combine all of the icing ingredients and mix well. Then drizzle over the finished muffins.

TA-DA!! It was delicious and I was so happy how it turned out! Thanks again to Cathleen and Katie for hosting, this was so much fun:)

Sincerely,
Syd

Summer Reading List

I've always loved to read, and I love participating in my local library's summer reading program. They offer tons of great giftcards and prizes, which is always a great incentive. I urge you to read a book. If your going on a trip, a book is the perfect thing to occupy your free time. Audiobooks are always a great option, you don't have to lug a book around everywhere. For some inspiration on what book to pick up this summer, I've made a list of some of my all time favorites. I love to get book recommendations, or if you want some more, either comment or send me an email! (sincerelysyd9@gmail.com) I love chatting with you guys:)

1. Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen
If y'all have not heard of Sarah Dessen, you must be living under a rock! She is one of my absolute favorite authors. Her books are perfect for a fun summer read, I definitely recommend you check her out!

2. The Summer I Turned Pretty Trilogy by Jenny Han
Jenny Han is also one of my favorite authors as well. I just finished her Burn for Burn Trilogy, which was not what I was expecting, but I still loved it! The summer trilogy, with always been one of my favorite, I've read it so many times, especially during the summer.

3. Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson
This is another great, contemporary summer read. I flew threw this book in a day, it was that good! Morgan Matson is an amazing author, and you will fall in love with her writing.

4. My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick
This book was so adorable, it made me swoon! It's the perfect book to get you ready for summer!

5. L.A. Candy by Lauren Conrad
I mostly picked this up because I love Lauren Conrad, and her closet of course! I wasn't expecting much, but this series turned out to be super entertaining. She wrote a spin-off series, which I haven't read yet but I've been meaning to!

6. The Help by Kathryn Stockett
I am afraid to say (or write, in this case) that I saw the movie before I read the book. Yes, I know how awful that is, I always scold people who do that. I promise it won't happen again!! But it was an amazing movie, the cast was absolutely phenomenal, and I guarantee you the book is even better!

Sincerely,
Syd
